Skin Tag Removal

Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags are small, soft, non-cancerous growths that commonly develop in areas where the skin experiences frequent friction, such as the neck, underarms, eyelids, groin, and under the breasts. They may occur due to genetics, aging, obesity, hormonal changes, or repeated skin rubbing.

Skin tags are generally harmless and do not pose a health risk. However, they can become irritated by clothing or jewelry, affect appearance, or cause discomfort, prompting many people to have them removed.

Our dermatologists may recommend advanced removal techniques such as radiofrequency (RF) cautery, electrocautery, laser removal, or minor surgical excision, depending on the size, location, and number of skin tags. The most suitable treatment is selected after a clinical evaluation.

Skin tag removal is a quick and minimally invasive procedure. Local anesthesia may be used when required to ensure comfort. In most cases, the treated area heals well with little to no visible scarring when proper aftercare is followed.

A removed skin tag does not grow back. However, new skin tags may develop in other areas over time, especially if you are prone to them due to genetics or friction. Regular skin check-ups can help manage new growths early.
